Tasty Tuesdays #3 Veggies Picky Eaters Will Love

Raise your hand if you are a picky eater! C'mon now, it is time to come out and be honest about it. It feels good to let the world know that you often turn your nose up at foods others love and swear by.

So, now that you have admitted it, it is time to figure out what to do about it. Vegetables are often the most hated of foods out there. Strange textures, smells, colors, and tastes often lead to cringe worthy reactions and turning your back on entire food group due to simply not knowing how to fit these not so tasty things into your diet.

So, I am one of those picky eaters. Healthy was a four letter word in my parents' house growing up, and I felt that way for so long until i began gaining weight and having health problems. I knew that vegetables would have to become a part of my daily diet. So, here are some ways I was able to find a love, or at least a tolerance, for veggies.

1. Try everything.

By this, I mean actually everything. Try canned, frozen, and fresh, and be sure to try veggies you have never thought of before. Until a couple of years ago I had never had artichokes or asparagus but found them to be great!

2. Hide them.

Veggies can be easy to hide, especially those with blander flavors or sweet flavors. Sweet potatoes are good in desserts and curries. Carrots can be blended into almost anything.

3. Flavor them the way you like.

A favoritte way of mine to eat vegetables is to simmer them in some olive oil and different spices until they are very soft and flavorful.
