Princess Poems #1
Just in case you didn't know, the first several things I had published were poems. I have been writing poems since I was four years old and absolutely enjoy it. So, i thought I would take a little time to share this with you and write some poems based on princesses.
The Cinderella
She prays as she slaves
Away in her cave
Waiting for someone to love her
It can be a man
It can be a mother
But none she gets from her evil stepmother
Her stepsisters laugh
At the soot on her face
She fears she will always
Feel out of place
But with a wish and some love
A fairy came form above
To grant her a fairy tale
Just until the clock struck twelve
She danced with a prince
Until she heard the clock strike
She did not know
How she had enchanted his heart that night
On a horse he came
Searching for the right dame
That fit the shoe
That belonged in his heart
Cinderella was the one
All hatred of her gone
For the love of a prince had saved her
Addicted to Thorns
Her life has been in shadows and her beauty hidden in brambles
She walks entranced towards the knife as the darkness consumes the light
The beating of her heart reaches crescendos in the dark
As the briars come into sight
She loves the way it feels as it slides against her skin
Leaving red stains to remember her by
This cursed princess falls into a deep rest
Dreaming of dragons and witches just the way she likes
How would anyone wake her from her sweet slumber
She is so happy in the blackness that she knows
Until he pulls her out with a poison kiss
And they live in the thorns together
